This policy explains how GoCoastal (“we”, “us”), a GST-registered travel business based in Mangalore, Karnataka, India, collects and uses your personal data when you use gocoastal.in. We are the data controller (or “data fiduciary” under India's DPDP Act) for this information.

What we collect

• Booking details you give us. When you send a booking request, we collect your name, phone number, and the trip details you enter (pickup, drop, dates, passengers, vehicle). We only collect this when you choose to contact us.
• Anonymous usage data. We measure page views and how visitors move through the site using cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Web Analytics). This does not use cookies, does not identify you personally, and does not track you across other websites. Because it collects no personal data, no cookie-consent banner is required.

How your booking request is sent

Booking requests are submitted through WhatsApp. When you tap “Send Booking Request on WhatsApp”, your details are sent to us as a WhatsApp message and are therefore also processed by WhatsApp / Meta under their privacy policy. We use these details only to respond to your enquiry and arrange your trip.

Why we use your data (legal basis)

• To respond to and fulfil your booking — based on your request and our steps to provide the service you asked for.
• To understand site traffic — based on our legitimate interest in improving the website, using data that does not identify you.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep booking enquiries only as long as needed to serve you and to keep proper business and tax records, after which they are deleted. Anonymous analytics are retained in aggregate only.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the EU/UK GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
